I worked at PSC Biotech as a contractor (less than a year)

they were quite efficient in getting me placed with the client, and the on boarding process was quite easy as well. pay rate was very competitive. also, they provided me a place to stay for the duration of the project with two other validation leads, and it was quite the fraternity. other contractors on the project were quite pleasant and friendly and hard workers. overall a pleasant experience although the actual workers at the client site left much to be desired in work ethics, attitudes etc.

they were not forthcoming in the actual duration of my particular role with the project. constant uncertainty in realm of actual length of project scope, cut backs, etc etc. many employees were always wondering if "...this was their last week due to...." any number of factors. caused many a contractor to quit prematurely. many contractors were in a constant stress mode due to this and due to the actual vendors employees uncertainty as well.
reimbursement for expenses was always a challenge. and this shouldnt be the case. reimbursement checks were always late etc, etc. also, as soon as the senior level contractors were near completion they were forced out almost immediately by newer, lower paying inexperienced talent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

be completely honest and upfront about project scope and issues. also provide a more stable platform for off site contractors.
