I have been working at Pacific Dental Services full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The number one reason I have worked for PDS for almost 5 years is the people I work with...not only in my office, but in the other offices across the region as well. Our staff is a fun, positive, very caring group of people. Also, it's nice to work for a company that is constantly growing, and provides several opportunites for employee advancement.

    Cons

We need a training program in place, preferably in each region. By doing this, not only will it make the teams stronger, it could possibly trim down the amount of meetings that employees are required to attend. Although some meetings are beneficial, taking employees out of the office too often can create unneccessary stress in the office, which effects our patients and production. Also, it feels that at times the focus is too much on the numbers. It's understandable that meeting budget is a priority for every business, but too much focus on numbers can cause stress on the team, and instead of motivating the staff, it deflates them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better communication with all employees is a must. At times it seems employees are "kept in the dark" until the last minute regarding some things. In my opinion, open communication with the team will ensure more productive employees and retention.
