I worked at Pacific Western Bank full-time (more than 5 years)

The only pro to this company is 85% of the employees are all treated badly so you always have someone to discuss the horrible practices and horrible management with that can relate.

It doesn't matter if you do your job and do your job well. If you are not personally known by the top 5% (share holders or Executive Management) you are never getting anywhere with this company. On the other hand if you happen to know one of them you can walk in the door getting 60,000 a year, do nothing and get promoted and make almost $100,000 a year plus bonus. Also beware, if they purchase or merge with another institution they will keep employees on to have them do the grunt work for six months. At the six month mark they will fire 90% of the institution staff and preselected of their own staff so they can use the "merge" as an excuse. Turn around within 3 months and hire someone for that same position at a higher rate that is a personally known friend of the social circle.

They are a "Commercial" bank because just like with their employees they only care about the top 5% that have the most money. For my annual bonus (VP and higher get 15%, lower than VP up to possible 5%) my Manager's exact words were "The Company doesn't view your position as a profit making role so unfortunately they would only approve a 3% bonus."

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advice to Management would be, pay attention to who really performs instead of how well they are known within your personal social circle.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
