A great job for people who get bored with monotonous tasks. There's always something new to be doing. Tasks will range from helping a guest pick out a gift, to demonstrating crafting tools to guests, to writing up wedding invitation orders, to teaching a class about crafting, to helping guests plan their DIY wedding. There's always more to learn, and it's a great job for creative people, especially those interested in paper crafting.
Unless you're part of management or the store is understaffed, you won't be scheduled many hours. (Everyone I knew worked at least two jobs.) Also the company is somewhat restrictive in the way each branch is managed. For being a place that's motto is "create", they hinder creativity by their tyrannical way of running things. Every display must be uniform to the company's orders, no deviation allowed. Even if it's a very clever and creative way of displaying a product, they will more than likely ax it.
Advice to Management
Loosen up. Creativity is restricted when you demand that each store be EXACTLY the same. Also, you need to decide whether you are really a crafting store or a retail store, because right now you waver between the two, not fully devoted to either. Again, this is where strict uniformity is your downfall. Some stores are big on crafting, some are big on gifts, but all are forced to carry the same product and emphasize the same services. Branches should be able to cater to their clientele's needs.
