I have been working at Paragon Medical full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Insurance isn't bad.. But that's about all it has going for it.

    Cons

Company is top heavy. Too many chiefs, not enough Indians. Management believes all good ideas flow from top down. Most hourly workers are very disgruntled with zero vision of growing either by job progression or pay. Lots & Lots of Nepotism throughout. Management has LOTS of "Draconian" rules for employees to follow. Very little care and appreciation for skill is given to the hourly workers on the floor.

    Advice to Management

For one, stop with the excessive amount of micro managing you force upon the hourly workers. Remember, the people on the floor are humans too.. Not second class citizens like they are treated. Moral on your shop floor is as low as it can go.. Turnover at your company should be telling you oceans of information of what employees think of the company.. Which no big secret, turnover is ENORMOUS. It cost you more money to keep hiring and retraining then to make the conditions on the floor pleasant for the employees, so why do you insist on letting good employees walk over small things? Paragon does not have the greatest reputation in the community for being a "Good" place to work. Eventually, you will run the course through all good skilled laborers.. And will be stuck like a good bunch of other employers hiring work release inmates or undesirable type of employees that nobody else wants.. You are about there now. Treat people fairly, make the jobs enjoyable for all, just not those with a desk and cubicle up front. The hard nose mentality that your work force on the floor is "easily" replaceable will eventually come back to haunt you.
