I worked at Paramount Pictures as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

    1) Incredible exposure to the inner workings of the Hollywood studio

    2) Coming to work everyday on a Hollywood lot

    3) Reasonably well structured internship program

    Cons

    1) No recruiting pipeline whatsoever- most MBA interns never make it to full time positions. The few that did were better at networking vs. actually working, mostly from the LA B-schools

    2) The ratio of graduate to undergraduate students is 1:10

    3) MBAs from Harvard/ Stanford/ Wharton/ Kellogg are rarer sightings than movie stars. Most are from the LA schools and, yes, the difference is very noticeable.

    4) Paramount is notorious for lay offs- Job insecurity runs rampant even with the internship hiring managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recover your investment by establishing a recruiting pipeline built by an HR team that will fight tooth and nail to retain the best talent from the top 5 schools, not just the talent that stays in touch
