I have been working at PepsiCo full-time

    Pros

In sales, you essentially have the autonomy to operate as though you're running your own business. You have the opportunity to represent top tier brands, which in most cases are #1 in the category. Don't get too comfortable though because everyone wants to dethrone you. The pay and vacation time is great.

    Cons

Annual cuts to headcount seem to have become a norm. Every absolute method of procurement to get the product on the shelf makes for a very competitive landscape. With that said, you can often run into situations where you're encroaching on an existing account for a counterpart. Finding out who owns that account could take some time. This atmosphere also encourages "silo's", but could also be attributed to the fact that you're working for a company that employ's over 300k associates.

    Advice to Management

Enter the interviewing process with an open mind and not have an associate already identified. This company has a huge talent pool and you continuously run the risk of losing associates when posting a role with the initial statement being "Strong Internal Candidate Identified".
