    I have been working at Performance Food Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Leadership yields a high level of autonomy and independence. The work environment's less autocratic, bureaucratic and political. While not without some sorts of favoritism, pay and promotion (in the grander scheme) is awarded largely based on performance and results.

    Open door policy is matter of fact. Leaders at the highest level are open and available. Fortunately the policy is practiced while not preached.

    Cons

    I suspect total compensation and benefits may lag behind competitors. Opportunities within other departments or disciplines, as well as openings in sister companies, are not widely promoted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Implement junior level advisory boards or committees. Allow this group to have a voice in (some) senior staff discussion and planning. It should not come as a surprise many ideas and best practices can be found at levels below VP and Director.
