I have been working at Peterson Farms full-time
Hourly people care about the product
Ownership and upper management obviously thrive on power trips, egocentric control methods, and creating chaos for the pure joy of it. The directors here are so caught up in money that they have completely forgotten who and how they get it. People are treated as slaves, all the while the ownership loudly boasts their concern and commitment to their people. I liken the company as a brand new corvette that daddy bought his 16 year old son. Eventually the son will have completely ruined it....most likely long before he ever realizes its value and begins to take care of it.
Advice to Management
Stop the lip service. Your people actually know more about how to make the company successful than you do. The cardinal rule of manufacturing is to NEVER beat up 1) your equipment and process, and 2) your people. You are doing BOTH every single day, then wondering why you have record turnover at every level. Pizza parties and free gas cards are no replacement for giving those who actually run the company....the hourly people on the floor.....the empowerment to make good things happen. It doesn't replace the time people need with their families, their children, their loved ones. Time to wake up and let your people have a hand in their own destinies. You will be amazed how smart and driven they will be.
