I worked at Pew Charitable Trusts full-time

    Pros

Great benefits and paid time off

    Cons

Management is completely inept. Rather than managing employees they throw them under the bus to higher-ups to CYA. It's not a very collegial environment, very bureaucratic, incestuous. Also do not work here if you are a young person looking to work your way up--they have a miserable track record of retaining young talent because those opportunities just don't exist.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's not enough to be smart, managers must actually manage. I saw one of the VPs go through about 6 assistants in 2 years. Have managers take courses in how to manage, measure them for results.
