I have been working at Pharmaceutical Product Development full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Pros are:
-- Still a big name in the CRO industry
    -- Lots of history
-- Good "work from home" policy very much depending on your group

    Cons

    --Less pay than other CROs
--Works its employees to the bone, and then some
--Worse employee morale than at any point in the past decade
--People in general no longer feel loyalty or pride in working for PPD, as it is obvious over the past 2-3 years that "PPD" is truly about nothing but "more money, faster". No one thought that it could possibly be worse to be owned by private equity than it was to be 'owned' by the quarterly results and the stock market....but we were all wrong.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I'm honestly not sure how much say the upper management of PPD still has in terms of the direction of the company, now that PPD is owned by private equity. My advice would be to try and wrestle any power back and please try to make the company a place where people are proud to work again. IF the direction of the company over the past two years IS because of PPD upper management, then there is really nothing that can be said except to please let new blood into the company. It's understandable if the downward trajectory is because of the ignorance of private equity on how to run a CRO, but if it's not the fault of our owners, then that might be even worse for the outlook of the company.
