    I worked at Phoenix House full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Good experience working with clients and understanding the system. The clients were wonderful and provide important insight in regards to addiction.

    Cons

    Management is extremely dysfunctional. Utilizing religion to persuade clients into making decisions about their recovery that they are hesitant about. Clinical supervision was poor and most individuals did not have adequate experience or training to provide healthy, therapeutic relationships. Clients were rarely treated with respect. The pay is terrible and no flexibility around working on holidays.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Create more clinical positions. Pay employees wages they can actually live on and respect their time away from work. Treat clients with respect and not like prisoners.
