I have been working at Pillar Hotels and Resorts full-time (More than 3 years)

There are some pretty great benefits: Health & Life insurance, Vision, Dental, discounts, flexible hours depending on your manager There are some really great people to work with & most are pretty friendly

-The company is too focused on low cost leadership; the IT department clearly needs more bodies, but I hear that upper management doesn't see the need for it; every purchase goes through an absurd chain of command for approval and most get denied - Upper management is quick to take credit for the work of their teams, even when they've had nothing to do with the project - Accountants are the lowest paid in the country - The corporate office environment is bland and feels like an institution - it isn't very hospitable, especially for a company in hospitality -VERY high turnover rate because of the mentioned cons; new employees typically do not stick around for very long and choose to move on almost immediately -Salaried employees put in ridiculous hours and are expected to do so without compensation; most corporate employees easily work 60+ hours/wk and are paid the lowest in their career field

    Advice to Management

-Focus on hiring long-term QUALITY employees rather than those who will work for the laughable wages offered -Micromanagement (especially when upper management doesn't know what their employees' duties entail & the process of performing them) is killing your employees, even the best ones; there is a reason that new employees do not stick around very long at the corporate office... most know what real management is
