I worked at Pinterest as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

There are so many Pros, including an awesome manager named Pro.
    * Pinterest's product provides a great experience to people that really love the website.
    * The workplace is really fun, well-stocked with food and drink, brightly lit, and reflects the happy, fun product we work on.
    * Pinterest has a massive data set that engineers can leverage to provide even more value to our users. If you're into data, come work here.
    * Pinterest can give immense value to advertisers and marketers, making the path to monetization easy.
    * Pinterest's management, including its new VP of Engineering, really care about making Pinterest the best it can be for its users, its employees, and the greater Internet.
    * Pinterest is small enough that each employee makes a real impact on the product and team.

    Cons

    * Pinterest is halfway between the 200-person company where everyone knows everyone and the 800-person company with all of the bureaucracy, structure, and "rules" that come with it. Making that switch is hard, but everyone is working on smoothing out that transition.
    * Shifts in management, especially Engineering leadership, have caused angst in the Eng org but the new VP, Lopp, is making move to fix the mistakes of his predecessors. This should be fixed in a few months, at most.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bolster engineering onboarding and work on the Pinterest engineering brand. We need to hire more engineers, more effectively, and faster.
