    I have been working at Porter Novelli full-time

    Pros

    Culture. Flex time off in summer is nice...if you can use it. Fun parties. Great people. Strong commitment to excellence. Collaboration. Even with frustrations below, the people and culture make me want to stay.

    Cons

    Compensation is absolutely abysmal and significantly below industry standards. Management finally acknowledged this but has yet to make improvements. Junior staff is overworked and under respected. Bonuses are rare unicorn. The idea of work-life balance is a joke. Promotions never seem to happen on time for most people, but for a select few they happen all the time. Leadership says people come first but actions show $$$ is all that matters. Difficult to get anything to "move" because of corporate red tape. Finance system horrible. Senior management will listen to your concerns but then nothing is done to correct problems. Unreasonable amount of work piled on some while others seem to have life outside work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take care of and invest in your junior staff. They are the future of this company, and there won't be a future if all your best talent realizes they are worth something more and leaves. Compensate people appropriately. Don't talk out of both sides of your mouth - recognize your employees are smart and see through it every time.
