I have been working at Portland Resourcing full-time for more than 3 years

For me it was my first proper job after business school and I can honestly say that it was a great experience. You get a lot of training, can travel a lot and you are basically running your own business. I benefited highly of the excellent brand reputation of the company and the great database of candidates. In my opinion the commission structure is fair and you can really earn a lot of money. The management is working in the company for a long long time and you can profit highly of the experience of the management. What I also very much liked was the trust they give you: when I started I was 20 and they already sent me to Germany to see clients etc.
Additionally (and probably most importantly) I have met over the almost 3 years a very great bunch of people, made many friends and truly enjoyed the plenty of activities off work.

As already previously written, the hours are long. But for me it wasn’t really the long hours which were the problem. In my job now I work easily the same, if not more. The problem for me was more the lack of flexible working times, e.g. you need to be there at 8, leave at 6 etc. (at least it was like this when I was working there, maybe its different now, but I assume its still the same) maybe it’s just a cultural thing but at least in the country I come from this is not usual and I had to get used to that:-) On the other side I can understand it to a point because now I am in project work and here it is probably easier to work flexible as we are not so much dependant on the “market”. Probably always different in sales.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    bring in flexible working times:-)
