Current Employee - Sales Executive in Chicago, IL
Current Employee - Sales Executive in Chicago, IL

I have been working at PowerReviews full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

-Culture is top notch (weekly catered lunches, monthly happy hours, fun general office shenanigans)
-Unique "re-startup" situation as a result of recent DOJ-mandated divestment from Bazaarvoice
-Incredible earning potential over the next few years, even for those in more entry level sales roles
-CEO is a thought leader in the market space, founder of Built In Chicago, and a serial entrepreneur with a sterling reputation within the Chicago startup scene
-Senior leadership team is a mix of new faces from high profile tech companies like ExactTarget and original members of the core leadership team responsible for shaping PowerReviews into the company it was when it was acquired in 2012

    Cons

These are less "cons," more "warnings"...
-As you might expect, there are moments when we're figuring things out as we go. Training is, at least at this point, watch and learn (which I prefer, frankly). For some, flying by the seat of your pants may be stress-inducing. Personally, after slogging it out at a low growth, process-crippled, hyper-political minefield of a company prior to this, I find it kind of exhilarating.
-High expectations across the board. There's no coasting here, regardless of your department. You're expected to ramp up quickly and deliver consistently. If you're a path of least resistance type person, this won't be a good fit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep on the current path. Continue to focus on enablement and fostering the current culture -- this will ensure even more great talent will join the team. Things are looking good!
