    I have been working at Precor full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - If you are in to health and fitness you get to be part of making great products.
    - Coworkers are great. There is a culture of accountability although it is starting to fade somewhat.
    - Good work / life balance.
    - Fairly small company so you'll get to know everyone and your way around quickly.
    - Manufacturing takes place right there on the main campus which is cool.
    - The work is interesting and challenging.
    - The company is profitable.
    - The CEO is approachable and friendly, hopefully this attitude will set an example for his senior staff. His strategy for the company seems positive. Too soon to tell, but it appears likely he will keep downward pressure on benefits and possibly cut profit sharing.

    Cons

    - Management is very cliquey. If you aren't part of the "in crowd" your input isn't valued.
    - Higher than average stress. Mostly caused by constantly conflicting goals.
    - Deadlines and budgets are extremely serious but resources to accomplish what's needed aren't always available. Tasks needed to complete an assignment are constantly adjusted.
    - The facility is underwhelming, furniture hasn't been replaced in decades.
    - Benefits and compensation are average.
    - Small layoff mid-year was quickly followed by hiring replacements and then additional staff with very similar skills. No real apparent logic there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Invest in some facilities upgrades.
    - Don't be so quick to keep bringing in more "senior leaders" without a plan. You are risking having too many people in charge.
    - Spend some time understanding what your staff is working on, you might find your people are more talented than you realize.
