I have been working at Purolator Courier full-time (More than 10 years)
The company is a great paying job and great benefits, opportunity for advancement, largest courier company in Canada. Many programs within.
No recognition for a good job, too much of a negative atmosphere not enough positive motivation. Only hear back from management when there is a problem. Zero recognition.
Advice to Management
Need more positive atmosphere which leads to positive results and motivation. Cant run a business on anger and intimidation and get the results you strive for. I work hard and give 120% and end up injured in the end and get looked down upon. Which I come to realize that I will work to what I feel is safe for myself, which does not mean I will give any less than a 100% a day in my work ethic. I love my job and i consider my wage my bonus which I do not complain that we should get a bonus on production as I am happy with the wages and my job. What makes many employees unhappy and this is from what i see everyday is the simple fact that the system is setup against our odds in every aspect for disciplinary actions and yet when we do a good job there is no positive feedback or a simple thank you which goes a long way, at least that what I would like. All the employees complain about how the business is run in a negative and cut throat ways and the atmosphere is severely severed with negativity which will destroy any company. I hope the positive comes out more which will make the company a better place to work with the recognition the employees deserve as the job is quite the challenge. I would like to stay with the company as I truly love what I do for a career. I hope there is no negative punishment for a review as I am speaking for everyone who feels the way I do.
