Salary caps and bonus based on a curve. Bonus and raises are limited by department not individual performance. Engineering gets a higher number of allowed excellent reviews, then the rest of the predetermined amount are divided by the departments. If a Sales Manager wants more of his team to get the excellent reviews they get priority over the marketing dept so your manager will have to downgrade your review so you will not get your bonus. Supervisors complain to HR but it does no good. Also when hired make sure its written on what they call the blue sheet otherwise HR will refuse to abide by the agreement stating its not company policy or some other excuse.
Advice to Management
Promote from within and stop taking credit for others work! HR you should be ashamed of how horrible you treat the hard-working employees at QLogic!!
