I have been working at Quad/Graphics full-time (More than 3 years)
The staff. People are great. Also, we make things work even when for all intents and purposes it shouldn't have. Lots of smart people working together. Within our department, our teams are structured in a good way and I feel like most people fit in their roles well.
Stress levels can be high as "ready, fire, aim" leads to lots of half-baked ideas being "needed yesterday". No upward mobility. Too top-heavy of an org chart. When I'm in a position 5 levels from the CEO but each level above me has more than 10 people in a role who are all Presidents, breaking the barrier to go up is much more difficult.
Advice to Management
Quad is a company known for its desire to treat it's employees like family. We have a solid team overall, but they're overworked and underpaid for the privilege. Even when they want to do things right, they're stopped at every turn. Leadership needs to step up and re-prioritize getting users the information and tools that they need to do their job. Roles need to be more clearly defined, documentation needs work, and we need to use the tools we have properly to be sure they're complete and correct.
