I worked at Qumu (Less than a year)
-The annual internal sales conference was great and made me a believer in the company and vision. -I learned a lot about myself and my abilities during my short time with the company.
-Executive Management - Not sure they really know how to run a successful company. -The Board of Directors seems to run the show and decisions seem to based around the latest stock price. -I was brought on to sell a new product and given about six months to do so. The product was nowhere near where it needed to be during that time, which was continuously acknowledged by management. The product finally got to the point (price and features) where we could sell it and less than two weeks later they let go of most of the group who was tasked with selling it. -I was let go along with many others as part of the first phase of a financial restructuring plan. My manager didn't even have the decency to have a conversation with me regarding why I was being let go...It definitely wasn't based on performance. It was very impersonal and unprofessional. -Communication was lacking on all levels. -Marketing efforts not where they needed to be.
Advice to Management
-Communicate and show that you care about your employees. -Don't hire a bunch of new people to sell a product that isn't ready to be sold and then give them an insufficient amount of time to actually sell it.
