Non- Micromanaging company. Great employees @ the Greensboro location.
The Good ole' boy system, favoritism and a "watch-what-you-say" atmosphere along with long-term employees ( approx 10-15 years ) with no, very little or outdated skill sets required to get the job done. The RFMD culture is outdated and requires an overhaul that hopefully will change with the merger. RFMD had no sense of urgency on it's projects. Seemed very dis-interested in introducing and offering RF education (formal and informal) to it's employees and seemed to be more concerned about the personality and political correctness of it's employees than the employee value they can offer to the business. The place was ran like a open campus and when projects got tough to handle, the project managers, project engineers would email that they are sick or their kid has the sniffles and will not be in attendance. RFMD was not able to maintain concentration on their projects and like a kid that see's a new shiny toy, drops the existing project to venture to a new one causing all projects to be incomplete.
Advice to Management
As Qorvo, it needs to be more aggressive and straightforward with their business decisions and concerned about the "business" value it's employee's and any future candidates offer to the "business". Stop worrying about the personalities and the political correctness of it's employees, and future candidates, for it is skill and talent that is needed for this business. This business does not deal or interact with the general public and does not require a prerequisite of it's workers as politically correct and/or righteous! You need an aggressive workforce to attack an aggressive semiconductor business.
