    Pros

    1. RPX strives for work-life balance. Core membership is a cash cow so the environment has a feeling of easy money, and hours are fairly light. There are quite a few company events.
    2. Good compensation.
    3. Contingent of highly intelligent, caring and interesting individuals. They don't often stay long, though!

    Cons

RPX hires many smart, passionate, qualified people across the ranks, but the senior executives who run the various departments are childhood friends of the CEO, so the most impressive folks often get jaded pretty quickly by the lack of fair play in the workplace. The departments that have the most turnover and least impressive results are run by the core clique. Here are the most valued attributes managers assign to employees, in this order: 1. Sponsored by a friend of the CEO; 2. Can hold your own in a conversation about sports; 3. Have a good sense of humor; 4. Some intellectual competency, but never more than your boss - provided your boss is in good standing by the friends of the CEO.
While the work has the potential to be fairly interesting don't expect your output to stand on its own merits. No one wants to know what you did, they only want to know who is backing it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1. 360 degree reviews; A. You will be very surprised, or B. You never wanted to know.
    2. Keep the motley crew from the keg stand days away from the management of other individuals, unless those managers are well-respected, incredible performers.
    3. Try elevating your employees, most people want to go to great lengths to earn their paychecks the honest way.
    4. Ask more questions!

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
