    Organization marred with politics,narrow-mindedness and instability

    I worked at RadiSys full-time (more than 3 years)


    1)Media Server division of the company is profitable BU.So will recommend.
    2)Average compensation and benefits.
    3)With new Head of HR,India in place,HR process,policies and activities seems to be improving.


    1)Wireless division which of the company working on 4G is highly unstable BU.Seems Radisys,US is gonna shutdown Trillium BU due to its average,lowering profits.
    Strictly do not recommend.

    2)Hire and fire policy is very rampant.No job stability.e.g.3 Wireless R & D directors have changed in last 2 years.

    3)Lateral entries in the organization are expected to perform right away,even though the code is heavily non-generic.

    4)Heavy politics in upper management where all old Continuous computing,Trillium wireless division management has either been fired or else cornered by core Radisys,US management.

    5)Lack of process compliance results in highly non maintainable/difficult to comprehend code.

    6)Very narrow outlook of current/future wireless business;results in no significant business wins in Wireless BU.

    7)Managers lack the basic trait of Integrity resulting in dissatisfied engineers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1)One of the Radisys "core values" is "One Team,One vision".The organization no way seems to be driven by this core value.Reason:The organization seems to be driven by "Prime Movers" inspired by Ayn Rand it seems.Empowering all the individuals in a team is essential for cohesiveness and team binding in an organization.Request to pay heed to this aspect.

    2)A knowledge organization like Radisys,is SUCCESSFULLY run not by CREATING ISLANDS of KNOWLEDGE,but rather having a "KNOWLEDGE ORGANIZATION" where your team plays TOGETHER to win by being uniformly equipped.

    3)An organization run with its subtle value as NON-INTEGRITY can never be a healthy work place for its employees.Few of your managers lack INTEGRITY.

    4)Have a broad outlook for a new individual recruited,believing in your interview process,else i suggest to change your interview process.
