The people are what make it worth it; otherwise I'd quit.

I have been working at Rave Motion Pictures

    Pros

Free Popcorn (if you bring your own containers)
    Free Movies (except midnight premiers)
The atmosphere is usually pretty fun
All the employees are incredibly nice and close knit
    Free Movie Memorabilia
    You meet interesting people
on slow days, you can read an entire book during shift

    Cons

The hours (it's not unusual to work a shift from four in the afternoon until 1 am)
    Management (unqualified, disrespectful, and unprofessional)
the pay (MINIMUM wage for incredibly tiring work)
The actual environment (the air conditioning is almost never run in concessions, the poppers give employees burn marks, there is mold growing in the theaters, etc.)
The lack of caring on the part of management
The new CEO's policies (he came in and changed EVERYTHING)
Weekend shifts (it's not unusual to see 1,200 customers in a forty-five minute set)
    Working holidays are mandatory

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show that you care more about your employees and put more thought into who you put in charge. I've been with the company over a year and never once have I felt acknowledged, and my coworkers agree. Also, management is 98% of the time under-qualified and demeaning to their employees. And finally, when you take over a company that is already a major franchise, try to make the transition as smooth as possible rather than uprooting all your employees.
