    I worked at Razer full-time (more than an year)


    Great brand recognition within the industry. Discounts on cool products. OK for entry level or those in desperate need of employment only but don't worry, you won't work here long. Razer is a successful company despite its own best efforts to the contrary.


    Complete lack of structure with excessive work redundancy because they just can't figure out how to do things right. Pay is well below market value. Pay is determined by what GM thinks he can get away with paying you just until you can't take it anymore and decide to quit. Get everything in writing before you start working here because they like to pull the bait and switch tactic on new hires. They lure you in with the promise of commissions that do not exists and the potential for the company to go public. You realize quickly enough that this is all an illusion.

    It's a highly abusive, hostile, and combative work environment especially from the senior executive team. You will be micromanaged and demeaned daily. They like to play mind games and test you. There is a revolving door of employees especially directors because of political assassinations and executives placing the blame on others.

    This place is a dead-end with no room for career growth for middle managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire good people to do a job, then let them do it. Constant micro managing, lying, and manipulation will get you no where. Be straight with people and treat them like the adults and professionals that they are. Purge the dead-weight employees who have been around forever and are just taking up space and providing no value. The red tape, bureaucracy, and redundancy is also doing no good. Get with the times and pay out the money to put good systems in place.

    Raise your ethical standards. The days when you could just back date orders and screw over vendors so that you can collect your own sales commissions is over. You will be audited and you will end up taking the entire company down with you. That is, if the Department of Labour or IRS doesn't get you first for all of your other wrong doings!

    Advice to CEO and other C-level executives: How are you not more involved and aware of what is going on in your US offices? Are you so blinded by the $ that you just don't care how it is earned or how many employees are abused to get it? It is truly amazing that you haven't been sued yet.
