    A once-great company in decline due to indecisiveness

    I worked at ReadyTalk full-time

    Pros

    - The executive team seems to genuinely care about work life balance and making things pleasant for their employees.
    - Casual dress code and culture.
    - First class health benefits are 100% covered by ReadyTalk
    - Great people who genuinely want to work with one another and make the company fun.
    - Laid back and fun.
    - Charitable and Wellness initiatives made available for all employees.
    - Great perks such as permanent kegs, holiday gifts, trips and parties.

    Cons

    - Executives are visibly struggling with the company no longer being small and refuse to decide on a professional development plan they claim to have been working on for years now.
    - High turnover of talent due to a severe lack upward mobility.
    - The vast majority of your workday is attending internal meetings.
    - Severe micro-management and lack of autonomy or ownership in non-management roles.
    - Management is terrified of making a decision but also refuse in letting go of the reigns
    - All promotions are lateral and require taking on additional work without increase in title or salary.
    - 100% of Middle, Senior and Executive roles are hired externally.
    - While kind and friendly, very few at the leadership level seem interested in managing their teams and more interested in avoiding responsibility.
    - No company strategy or product vision. Any strategy that is made public is changed within a week due to indecisiveness.
    - 100% of HR's focus is on recruitment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be decisive and follow-thru.
    Implement a real professional development plan to allow internal growth..
    Trust your talent enough to promote from within.
    Macro manage and let employees have ownership in their roles.
    Pick a strategy and stick with it. Constant pivoting is ruining the product.
