I have been working at Rent-A-Center part-time (Less than a year)
Good pay for no degree. The work is really not that hard unless you have never worked a physical job. I don't understand all of the reviews saying it's hard work. You move furniture and deal with customers accounts, most of the time is spent on the road. Try working in a sawmill if you consider this hard work!
Very poor communication between corporate and store level management. Anything negative is blamed on corporate. The company can be all around very unprofessional. That can be either a pro or a con depending on your personality.
Advice to Management
Please improve on all levels. In my experience store managers argue amongst themselves. One assistant manager was having me drive, and the other assistant manager called and said I should not be driving because I had not been trained. The assistant manager with me turned to me and said "continue to drive, this is your training". There is constant tension and petty arguments, at least at the store I'm working in.
