I have been working at Renzenberger full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I like the job. You are on call to pick up and transport rail crews. Being on call all the time can be difficult but if you watch the dispatch board you can have a rough idea of when you are going to get called. The crews are great and will be great to you if you are safe and friendly. Also, be friendly and polite to dispatch and they will be good to you, I've noticed a lot of people mad at dispatch and the problems are not their fault, communication is key.

    Cons

Make sure to get rest as soon as you get off of your call. That is the hardest part. There are strict policies to follow which can be tough, such as disciplinary action if you miss a dispatch call, but if you communicate with your manager even that is not a problem. The pay is very low which is disappointing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please pay your drivers a real living wage. Your turn around would lessen and your employees would be happier. Everyone I've met has been friendly and professional and I really enjoy the company, but it is worrisome that I cannot quite survive on the checks. Even working consistently my full 12 and over.
