    I worked at Republic Services full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great industry! Pretty much recesion proof. Car allowance. competive base salary. Lots of room for advancement locally and throughout the country. Good Benefits. 401K etc

    Cons

    Your sales manager pretty much makes or breaks you. They have been hiring a lot of sales managers from out of the industry, who have not idea how the industry works. Same with upper management. As an account manager, you are required to defend aginst VERY aggresive price increases, which are obvious cases of price galging.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to your sales teams. Do not set unrealstic sales quotas that are un attainable. Do not have idiots in high positions , who make decisions that are not logic, because they are so far out of touch with the industry.
