I have been working at Resources For The Future full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The people are amazing. You meet friends here in research, development, finance, and communication. Has a great reputation for research. The Fellows are great and super talented but not many move up.

    Cons

Some members of the leadership team are two faced so unfortunately the CEO does not see how some of them treat their staff. In general there is turnover because of the Research Assistants (2 yr appointment), but there has been so much with the past 5. While this is a nonprofit company, it management operates like a corporation and are very top heavy. They see lower staff as all replaceable unless you are the "talent." Very few minorities in their staff and none have high managerial positions. It is a small organization and everyone talks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take courses in leadership, team building, ethics, and organization. You are not inspiring your team nor are you compensating the people who get you where you need to go. Some of you De-incentivize your employees through aggressive behavior, take no effort in shaping the culture of RFF, and steam roll over everyone.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
