I worked at Rhode Island House of Representatives as an intern (less than an year)Pros
Relatively easy work, usually for less than two hours, that results in some good spending money. As a high school student, it's not a bad gig.
It's after school and you get to go home pretty quickly.
You also get to talk to politicians, so if thats what you're looking for this is also a good option for you.
Also, every now and then, you can just grab a drink for yourself.Cons
It's pretty boring. As a page, you're really just getting drinks for the Reps. It can get repetitive fast.
You also have to dress in a suit every day. That's easy if you already go to a private school, but if not it can be pain.
Last, unless you can schmooze up to someone, there's often no work for you. If there's already a bunch of pages on the floor, you're basically not doing anything. While this could seem like a plus - it can get really boring day in and day out.Advice to ManagementAdvice
