I have been working at Ricoh Americas Corporation full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The health insurance is ok if you aren't covering a spouse or children. I have some great co-workers.

    Cons

RICOH doesn't pay well. The management does nothing to manage employees. There aren't many opportunities for advancement, and when they come up you had better be some one whom management likes and can control. The vacation policy is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. You accrue time, but nothing carries over from year to year. This means you have to borrow against your estimated time for a vacation or wait until you have time to take and try to use it when everyone is trying to use theirs as well. If you borrow the time, you have to pay it back when you leave. If you don't use it all, you loose your benefit. They also do nothing to recognize hard workers. There is a contest to win a trip, but it isn't based upon job performance. It is based on a series of online tests about company knowledge with the final stage in a face to face phase. From the about 100,000 of the employees in the US, 200 of the top scorers of this test get an all expense paid trip and a weeks vacation. Again, not based on actual JOB performance, but test scores. Raises are teeny. They pushed the raise back 4 months so that they could give larger raises, but no one saw much of an increase and most actually lost money.
