Long hours not so bad but the "politics" are ridiculous.

Former Employee - Banquet Captain  in  Houston, TX
Former Employee - Banquet Captain in Houston, TX

I worked at River Oaks Country Club full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Gives great experience, especially if your trying to build a base for a career in country clubs. You can learn a lot but only if your willing and motivated

    Cons

In banquets they either work you to death or short you on hours, it's a total mind-game. The departments don't follow he same standards. There's NO TRAINING your just thrown on the floor and you ave to pretty much find your way by asking others.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train your banquet staff, service staff in general.
