I had a great learning experience at RGH that helped me to focus on my patient's and their families as a whole.

I have been working at Rochester General Hospital full-time for more than a year

The salary is great after being there one year you receive a four dollar an hour raise. We have 4 weeks of vacation a year. The team work between the doctors, mid-levels, PCT's, and other nurses was great.

The nurse to patient ratio can be heavy at times with 1 to 6 on a day shift. The rotating between all three shifts in one week (days, evenings, nights) can be exhausting. The schedule does not work well if you have a family.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should take into consideration the level of experience of the staff members on at one time. There are times when there are nurses with less then one year of experience on at the same time. There have been many times when there are patient's who become acutely ill.
