Former Employee - IT Staff  in  New York, NY
Former Employee - IT Staff in New York, NY

I worked at Rockefeller University full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Laid back atmosphere, co-workers for the most part, on campus cafeteria

    Cons

Pay. 401 lock down, no structure. Lacking in progress. No motivation, old boys school mentality, rarely pay for any type of training or seminars that would enhance performance or job skill. Its like stepping back into time with HR and how to handle issues. No training for anyone that is promoted to management with no prior skills of managing people. Runs in spite of itself.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

IT is about progress. Treat your staff better. Pay better. Train managers, directors and higher could use with some PR skills as well. Take your customers serious they are the very reason an IT is needed. You can start by providing what they actually need. Learn about morale and practice it often. You have great workers there, look up and notice.
