There's potential to move up, but it's a stressful & underpaid job

I have been working at Ross Stores

Definitely room to grow, mostly because of employee turnover. 20% employee discount, though it jumps to 40% for a week every 4 months or so.

Low pay, low raises. Very stressful. Associates do pretty much everything in the store, not just cashier. The location I am at is one of the busiest in the nation and of course our payroll is on a budget so we don't ever have enough associates to cut down on the line, so irate customers are a common occurrence. Also the price checking system is terrible. Although promotions are prevalent, they aren't always based on fairness.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out of the office and be on the floor more. Show more appreciation towards the associates as well.
