I have been working at Ross Stores part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

My coworkers and managers were great. You get a 20% off employee discount, and every now and then (like once in a blue moon) you'd get a 40% off discount. After about 6 months you receive an employee evaluation with the chance of a (tiny) raise.

    Cons

You are promised up to 25hrs a week, but never receive that many hours. They are always cutting hours. People are always quitting so they are always very understaffed. For being retail, and for it being such a big and growing business no matter what your prior experience you only start off at minimum wage. When it comes down to them giving you a raise, don't expect a huge raise. There are only 2 full time positions that are usually taken and company appointed, so don't expect to move up in this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you would give the amount of hours one is promised at the beginning, maybe people would actually stay and not leave after only one paycheck or one day.
