I have been working at Roundy's Supermarkets part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Customers are friendly and the best part of the job.

    Cons

Micromanage employees, ridiculously low wages, do not empower employees, do not treat employees like the valuable asset they are.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Empower your employees to make decisions that will help grow your business; stop micromanaging; pay for performance not duration of employment. If you empower your employees and pay for performance you would not have the huge turnover that exists in your stores. Training classes of 15 or more each week should be an indicator to you that something is not working. It costs you more money to keep training people and what you don't realize is when you retain employees they help you grow your business with their knowledge, performance, genuine concern for the company and desire to see the company succeed. You should look at companies like Microsoft, Google, Ben and Jerry's as examples of what works. All of these companies value their employees and their success is a reflection of that.
