    I have been working at Rowman & Littlefield Publishing full-time (More than 3 years)


    -Awesome people -Competent and Smart Supervisors -Relaxed atmosphere -Flexible Schedules


    -High Turnovers -Low Pay in comparison to the high cost of living in the area -Yearly company reviews when employees are informed of the millions of dollars the company is making while salaries are almost the same as what someone who doesn't have a bachelors degree would make.

    Advice to Management

    It's a sad thing when you like coming to work everyday and seeing people you like when the managers care about their employees and there is a sense of comaderie but you don't have enough money for basic necessities. High turnover exists for a reason. It's a great place to work and gain experience but once you start noticing that the pay doesn't align with general career and life goals then it's time to start looking for something else. It's a shame to have constant training for the new crop of people that sprout every couple of months, it seems like the company is happy with paying their hard working employees next to nothing. It says a lot about the value of a person if no one is willing to pay you to stay. Until salaries are at least decent, high turnovers will exist. This company will remain a place of simply a location to gain experience and then move on to bigger things. One of the biggest reasons people leave is because of the salary. Keeping hard-working, competent and intelligent people should be the priority over trying to make a bigger profit. If money is so important to the executives then think of this, wouldn't you rather have a team of great people who do their job efficiently everyday and have contacts and just pay them some more or would you rather have recent college grads who take time to train, don't know what they are doing until three to six months into their job only to realize once they are efficient that: hey! I have skills and references, it's time to leave. Real companies care about the well-being of their employees. If salaries are such a burden to increase then think about other ways to improve the lack of salaries with perhaps the increase of benefits. Until you show you care and people start thinking about their jobs at R&L as a career path instead of stepping stones, you won't be as big as you really want to be.
