I worked at Rubio's Restaurants full-time (More than a year)
Fun work environment as far as interaction with guests and hourly employee's most of the time. Marketing managers are helpful and open to feedback.
Bonuses are hard to achieve when the corporate accounting team save up invoices and submit them at the end of the quarters reducing your chance to bonus. Every employee you talk to is somehow related to another employee so the entire company is a giant gossip change. District managers operate more on whom they like and discard the one's they don't more on a personal level. Not based on Restaurant result or measurements in the industry. High level of hourly and management turnover. Managers are told to make they're schedules, but truly they're schedules are dictated by the DM.
Advice to Management
The RSC (especially the District Managers) need to be more present in there stores. Help your management staff and make sure your store managers have the tools to achieve all the BS you guys throw out to them while expecting smooth day to day operations not to be affected. While most of you have worked in stores in the past, when is the last time you actually walked in your subordinates shoes?????
