I have been working at SCL Health full-time (More than a year)
I work with smart, conscientious, caring people. It is a very busy, face paced environment, but it's okay to laugh at work sometimes which is refreshing. We have a lot of people here with strong talents, and the team I am on works very well together. Overall I am happy with my benefits. There is an extra discount we receive if we go to one of our own facilities. Company contributions to the retirement plan are good. The Broomfield office just opened up a health center which is convenient. Free EAP service. The new Broomfield campus is nice. Cubes are small. Flexibility to work from home is the best and only perk - it makes the office relocation to Broomfield manageable for many and this type of flexibility is what most millennials are expecting. Pay increases are not even enough to keep up with the high cost of living in this area.
PTO/Sick/Holiday time is rolled into one and is much lower than any other organization I have worked for. Little time off to recharge and enjoy life outside of the office does not support work/life balance. As soon as I think I have accrued some PTO, a mandatory holiday comes along and gobbles it up. I don't see a lot of opportunity for advancement.
Advice to Management
Provide better PTO benefits. Senior leaders get more time off than the rank and file - we all live hectic and stressful lives and need time to recharge so we can be at our best. Create a mentoring program. Recognize the untapped talents of many of our associates. Have courage to make the tough choices needed to make this organization a top notch healthcare system that retains the best and brightest. Invest in technology - Lawson is a mess
