    I worked at SEIU

    Pros

Overall, there are alot of reasons to work at SEIU and few drawbacks. It offers a great work life balance and much better pay than at other places. I found my colleagues to be smart and engaging and also really friendly. Management was a mixed bag though. Work was usually fairly Interesting and pretty good variety for the first few years. I thought that employees were usually treated fairly. You can travel if you want, but don't have to as well. I gained a much better understanding of the political process while I was there. Overall a good experience.

    Cons

Hard to be promoted and move to a new job internally
Management needs to work on communications
    Promotions hard to come by
    Employee morale could be higher

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Improve retention of younger staff
    Better evaluation tool
