    I worked at SILVUS TECHNOLOGIES

    Pros

Participate in development at the forefront of wireless technology.

    Cons

    1. Effort and performance are rewarded primarily with stock options instead of raises. Silvus is a privately held startup, and I think they currently re-invest any profit back into the company by hiring more people and developing new products.

    2. Silvus expects a lot of work out of their employees. Sometimes it's long hours, and sometimes it's doing the work of two people at once. It's not really in line with the compensation they provide.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Most everything that is done is appropriate to Silvus' situation, and the work culture is a nice one in general, but:

Sometimes they don't seem to pay what a person is worth, or they expect too much of a person for what they are paying. I have seen Management repeatedly assign extra work to people who are already doing full time work, when they should really be hiring someone else with a different set of skills. I think this hurts the company in the long run, because things don't run smoothly and mistakes get made when people are multitasking, doing work they are not qualified to do, and regularly working overtime at it. Despite this, I believe that Silvus is a good company to work for in general and I believe that Silvus will succeed as a company.
