    Okay experience, but Seriously Flawed

Former Employee - Math and Literacy Instructor

I worked at STAR Education part-time (less than a year)

You get to work with children from all over the area. You learn a lot about school and education. You get to be up and moving around all the time.

Very disorganized. You could come in prepared to teach one thing, then be asked to teach something completely different. As a substitute, everything's very last minute, many assignments are scheduled the day of the class. Training, only an hour long, left me largely unprepared for what I would have to deal with on the job. Also, it took them several weeks to coordinate with me to set up the CPR class I needed to get hired. You are given the materials and then expected to handle several rotations of 20 people on your own.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give better training, more than just an hour the day before work starts. Have better communication between the main offices and the sites.
