Biggest Mistake of My Life !!!!

Former Employee - Admissions Advisor  in  Carmel, IN
Former Employee - Admissions Advisor in Carmel, IN

I worked at Salem International University full-time for more than a year

    It's a paycheck... I can't think of anything else..

Lies, Lies, Lies.. they will tell you anything to keep you there until they drain you of all your energy- then they "let you go" as soon as your performance waivers in any way. I was ranked in the top 1% of Advisors, but the second I had a "difficult month" (after surviving over 2 years- most remain 90 days at the most), I was "let go", then told that if a supervisor was caught being used as a reference they would be immediately terminated. After working here, I received multiple job offers but they were retracted for "undisclosed reason" once they realized who my VP was. The benefits were so expensive they absorbed more than 1/2 my pay and daily.. the moment you walked in the door... you were berated and threatened with your job. Management is condescending, secretive, bias and just flat-out mean. They do not care at all about their employees or their success. Working here was one of the worst decisions I have ever made in my life! I thought I was going in to help people achieve their goals- the only goal to be reached was to make them $$ and survive another day of employment. Although I did make a few good friends, most of the other advisors manipulated a fake friendship to cheat their way through training programs (that were pointless) because I was a top producer and would then stab you in the back/steal your leads/access your appointments and steal your client without a second thought. Being "let go" was the best thing that could've ever happened to me. Management knows how to charm and flash a smile... don't be fooled!
