Working at Sam's Club is nice because your membership fees are deducted out of each paycheck. It's also nice, not having to constantly be on a cash register. You also get to see more of what's on sale for instant savings. There are many opportunities available, and many locations to work at. And scheduling is done 3 weeks in advance.
You don't get paid commission for all of the upsales, upgrades, and memberships, and credit cards that you sell to members. All of the progress of your membership team gets lumped together, so one person could be doing all the work, and the slackers poor performance affects everyone as a group. The write-up policy is also very strict if you get written up for anything from poor attendance to poor performance it takes a year to fall off. Which means you can't transfer to another department, receive a promotion, or transfer to another Walmart or Sam's Club location for a year. That is-assuming you receive no more write-ups. Although scheduling is done 3 weeks in advance, you never have the same schedule, and to be full-time they require that you keep open availability. They also only offer full-time, if they have to, meaning that you have to work at least 32 hours for 12 consecutive weeks for it to be offered to you (usually).
Advice to Management
Listen to your employees!! Talk to them like they're people and not just a number. Talk to them in a professional manner. Everyone that works at Sam's Club has to be 18+, so there are no children here.
