    I have been working at Samsung Electronics America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Pay and benefits. Some great people.

    Cons

    This is the craziest place I have worked at. There is a constant sense of existential angst and a sense of (false) urgency about everything needing to be done yesterday. Work revolves around creating presentations for executives who visit (seemingly with little advanced warning) in the hopes of convincing them that you, your project and/or your team are relevant to the business. Executives make the biggest decisions based on the smallest input/data...and so often it seems like they're just going with their gut. Information is held back and used as power over people, "If you had the information I had, you'd see that I was right." Too often, we toss out what is right to do for what is faster to achieve. In the end, you get people who are confused and frustrated about what they are working on, who tackle their tasks with daily ambivalence and ship things neither they nor the customer will care about. Samsung seems to value how much they can get from customers instead of how much they can give them.

    Advice to Management

    Stop policing the USA so much. Their is little true autonomy here. Everything, despite what is said from the stage at CES, is still controlled by Korea. Let go!
