I have been working at Save-A-Lot Food Stores part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Decent pay rates, the progressive wages are a great thing to look forward to. the people are always great. I've worked with some pretty great Assistant managers and Store managers. Work is relatively simple and fair. Moving up isn't too hard if you work hard.

    Cons

The hours. If you're part time, like 90% of the store staff, you will not be guaranteed any substantial number of hours. Some cashiers get 10 hours a week. The progressive wages mean very little when you are only there a couple days a week. Turnover is terrible! Cashiers and stockers come and go so often you hardly learn their names before they get sick of the low pay. Quality of the employees and their work is really bad. When you're offering such little incentive to work, nobody who really wants a job is going to apply. some district managers play the favoritism game, and like to move you around from store to store when their favorite gets mad at you. Part timers get transferred all the time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talk out your problems with people (with the person who you are upset with). Give better hours. people come to work for the paycheck, not just to say they have a job.
